A special video greeting from Johnny Depp, in full character as Capt. Jack Sparrow, the loveable rum-swigging pirate from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” surprised Comic-Con attendees last week during a presentation of Disney films. Depp offered a glimpse of what audiences can expect when “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” hits theaters May 20, 2011.
Cell cameras captured bootleg videos, but legions of ecstatic fans deluged producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s social networking sites on Facebook and Twitter and so, by popular demand, he posted a YouTube link today on his page.
“Pirates” is currently filming on Oahu but the video greeting was shot on Kauai earlier this month.
