After a full day of tromping through Hawaii Kai in search of China Walls, celebrity DJ Steve Aoki, his brother Kevin Aoki, niece, and girlfriend finally gave up the hunt and settled for a cove near Sandyʻs beach.

They watched as a few locals jumped off overhanging rocks, and with no hesitation, climbed up to the same point to make their dive. Hand in hand, Aoki and his girlfriend leaped; while airborne, he let out a slight scream.

“I canʻt believe I just screamed,” he laughed as he popped out of the water. “That was like hopping off a curb.” Read more

DJs Nocturna and Modboy, pictured above, returned to Bar 35 last weekend to host another installment of “80s Pop Musik” at the bar.

This month’s featured guest was La Diosa Swimwear, which is owned by local resident Mariel Garrido Melchor and her husband, John. The label launched in March, with the swimsuits designed in collaboration with Argentinean designer Marina Bornand. Read more

It was a celebration last Friday at thirtyninehotel for the guys from the Nocturnal Sound Krew, as one of their own marked four years of monthly parties at the Chinatown nightspot.

DJ ESKAE was joined by DJs Compose and SSSOLUTION for “Soul Clap,” the longest running dance party in the neighborhood. Ever since 2006, ESKAE and friends have kept people moving their feet on the last Friday of every month. Read more
